Design and create a scale model of a sustainable house that is low impact on the environment, economical to run, healthier to live in and adaptable to our changing needs.

  • What does ‘sustainable’ mean?
  • What aspects of our housing are currently ‘unsustainable’?
  • What sustainable building materials could you use?
  • How could your house reduce power consumption and use renewable energy sources?
  • How could your design take advantage of natural heating and cooling?
  • How could you reduce water use and use recycled options?
  • How is your house adaptable to environmental and demographic changes?
